Therapy for stressed out moms to reduce the mental load and parent with confidence

Parenting can leave you feeling drained, overwhelmed, or even questioning yourself. You’ve made it out of the baby years, but now you’re navigating toddler meltdowns, school transitions, and growing kids with big emotions. You might be juggling work and childcare while managing your own stress and anxiety or difficulty with your own parents, siblings, and family of origin. Or you may be home full-time, carrying the mental load for your family morning, day, and night. It can feel like there’s little space for you—and moments of frustration or guilt may leave you wondering, “Is this normal?” or “Am I a bad mom?”

You deserve a space for yourself. At Connected Beginnings, therapy can help you feel like yourself again, manage the emotions and burnout of motherhood, and build the tools to thrive in every stage of parenting.

Parenting children with differing needs and abilities

Parenting a child with additional needs—such as ADHD, Autism, anxiety, physical disabilities, or complex medical conditions—can be exhausting. Between IEP meetings, coordinating resources, managing behaviors at home, and balancing daily routines, it’s easy for your energy and emotional capacity to feel completely drained.

At Connected Beginnings, we provide a space for you to heal, release, and learn strategies to manage overwhelm, challenging behaviors, and the constant mental load.

If finding time for therapy feels impossible, online therapy in Virginia and Washington, DC can make support more accessible. For a flexible approach, we can also do walk-and-talk sessions in Arlington, VA, combining time outdoors with therapy to meet multiple needs at once, your needs included.
