Online therapy in Virginia & Washington, DC and outdoor walking sessions in Arlington, VA

50 minute individual therapy sessions: $225

I’m an out-of-network provider (not contracted with insurance), but I will submit claims on your behalf via a company called Thrizer if you’d like. Out-of-network benefits typically reimburse 60–80% of the cost of each session after your deductible is met.

I’d be happy to check your out-of-network benefits for you! Just make sure to have your insurance card handy, with your Member ID, during our free intro call.

 FAQs

  • Yes! If you have out-of-network benefits I am happy to submit claims on your behalf (via a company called Thrizer) or provide you with a monthly superbill so you can coordinate with your insurance company directly.

  • Typically, insurance reimburses 60–80% of the session cost after your deductible.

    You can:

    1. Let me submit claims on your behalf via Thrizer (small fee ~$2). After you meet your deductible, reimbursement is sent via direct deposit.

    2. Submit claims yourself using a monthly superbill I provide.

  • There are two ways to check your benefits:

    1. Bring your insurance card to our intro call and I can for you during our call.

    2. Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask:

      • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage?

      • Can I use these benefits for telehealth?

      • What is my out-of-network deductible?

      • How much of my deductible has been met this year?

      • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider?

      • What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

      • How much will I be reimbursed for a 45-minute psychotherapy session? (CPT code 90834)

      • How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

      • How long will it take to receive reimbursement?

  • Before scheduling, I offer a free 15-minute intro call. We’ll:

    • Talk about why you’re seeking therapy

    • Discuss my approach as a therapist

    • Answer any questions you may have

    • Review rates, insurance, and availability

  • So we’re a good fit — what’s next?

If we both decide to move forward:

    • We’ll schedule your first therapy session

    • I’ll send forms to complete beforehand

    • I’ll provide the link for our first virtual session (assessment is always virtual, but we can start walk and talk sessions after assessment if you’re interested!)

  • I meet with the majority of my clients on a weekly basis. I ask that all new clients commit to meeting weekly, for at least the first six weeks. This will allow us to start off on a strong foot, so you can start seeing progress right away.

I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.

    • Online Therapy: Anywhere with a stable internet connection, device, and headphones (except for driving!).

    • Run Walk Talk® Therapy in Arlington, VA: Walk-and-talk sessions provide movement and therapy in one session—a win-win for parents with limited time.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
